The latter of these movies marks a crucial turning point for Dragon Ball Super through its smart decision to tell a story that shelves Goku and Vegeta in favor of a formula-breaking adventure that instead puts Piccolo and Gohan in the spotlight. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero establishes a new status quo as several characters unlock powerful transformations, while others master new skills. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero reduces powerful characters like Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Beerus, and Whis to mere cameos, which makes it all the more interesting to break down the rest of the movie’s strongest fighters.
Pan, Gohan and Videl’s daughter, is only three years old in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, yet she still plays a surprisingly important role in the inspirational feature film. Super Hero reveals that Pan has been training under Piccolo, just like Gohan used to do, and she’s already learned some crucial skills from her Namekian mentor. Pan helps Piccolo in his plan to reignite Gohan’s fighting spirit. She pretends to get kidnapped by Red Ribbon and this danger is more than enough to bring Gohan back onto the battlefield and help him remember what it means to be a hero. That being said, Pan proves to be no slouch here, and she manages to beat up several Red Ribbon soldiers.
