Ash Ketchum is one of the most beloved characters in pop culture history. Ash was the protagonist of the Pokémon anime for a stunning 1,232 episodes, during which time the audience saw him go from a young boy with a dream to an adult Pokémon master. Ash encountered loads of Pokémon and overcame hundreds of hurdles on his epic journey. However, there is one question that fans have been debating for a long time: could season one Ash take down his older self?
Comparing Ash at different points in his journey is tricky, as Ash constantly subs Pokémon in and out of his team, depending on the situation and storyline. Plus, Ash is often followed by Pokémon that, despite traveling with him, are not officially part of his team and are not used in battle.
