One of the biggest streaming services in the world, Netflix, and the major post-production service Iyuno, have both released official statements following several serious leaks of its upcoming animated titles. These include the likes of Arcane Season 2, Terminator Zero, Dan Da Dan and several others.
Netflix issued the statement following a series of damaging leaks of its animated titles this week. Via The Wrap, a spokesperson said, “One of our post-production partners has been compromised and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online. Our team is aggressively taking action to have it taken down.”
While this ‘post-production partner’ wasn’t initially named, the Californian subtitling, translation and language dubbing services provider Iyuno Inc. admitted fault the following day. Its statement, dated Aug. 9, 2024, said, “Iyuno is aware of a recent security issue, involving unauthorized access to confidential content. Protecting our clients’ confidentiality and ensuring the security of their content is our highest priority. We are actively investigating this security breach to mitigate any potential risks and identify the responsible parties. When there are material changes or information we will make further statements.” Some had speculated prior to this statement that Iyuno was likely the origin of the breach; a listing on the SAG-AFTRA Signatory Database confirmed that the company was responsible for dubbing Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain, one of the compromised titles this week.
