Water Release, or Suiton, is one of the five basic nature transformations in the Naruto series and has many fluid applications. It’s best used to counter Fire Release jutsu, which it is naturally strong against, but it can also serve as an ingredient for the Strom, Boil, Wood and Ice Release jutsu. Interestingly, Suiton isn’t directly used by either Naruto Uzumaki or Sasuke Uchiha at length, leaving other supporting characters and antagonists to show off the possibilities of Water Release Jutsu.
Despite not being used by some of the most prominent characters, it certainly doesn’t mean Suiton lacks power. Water Release plays an important role in numerous characters’ arsenals and remains relevant in various encounters throughout the series, in and out of combat.
