Boruto: What Are the Thorn Soul Bulbs?

As Boruto: Two Blue Vortex continues, Naruto’s son is embarking on a very unpredictable journey. He has shown new abilities, such as the Rasengan Uzuhiko. But there is more family tree drama with the Uzumaki clan, as Himawari now has Kurama inside her. With each manga chapter, fans are discovering major twists and page turns that set up bombshell after bombshell.
In the latest development, Kawaki gets his time in the limelight to reassert that he is in charge of Konoha. Here, Kawaki kills Hidari, the God Tree who invaded the Hidden Leaf with Jura. In the process, fans have learned about the existence of a new scientific element tied to the Ōtsutsuki lineage and what these aliens are meant to do. This is none other than the spore known as the Thorn Soul Bulb.
The spore arises when Kawaki uses his Ōtsutsuki power to incinerate Hidari after Boruto batters the intruder. Boruto takes it and telepathically tells his new mentor, Kashin Koji, that he has found what they were looking for. Koji confirms this is what they will use to free Sasuke, who has been stuck in a God Tree of his own after being attacked by the mutated Claw Grime these villains have under their command.
