Studio Ghibli’s Limited-Edition Coffee Grinder Returns to Official Store

Studio Ghibli fans who also happen to be coffee lovers can rejoice, as the studio’s official online store, Donguri Sora, recently brought back a singular iconic product: the “Porco Rosso Kalita Hand Grinder Coffee Mill,” first introduced in 2021.
Although Donguri Sora does sell several other coffee-related items, including mugs, tumblers and even a dripper, its coffee grinder is currently the only available product of its kind, making it a unique piece of merchandise perfect for the discerning collector. It’s described as being easy to hold and use with one hand, with an adjustable grind so that owners can choose their preferred size of grind — whether coarse for cold brew or French press or fine for pour-over cone or espresso.
The grinder is made in collaboration with Kalita, a family-owned Japanese company established in the 1950s and currently headquartered in Yokohama. The brand is well-known for its industry-standard coffee equipment, from drippers and pots to servers and decanters, often compared to the likes of Hario or Chemex. The Ghibli collaboration sees a laser-engraved design featuring the smiling titular protagonist from 1992’s Porco Rosso, both written and directed by studio founder Hayao Miyazaki. Above the character, the phrase “Enjoy Your Break Time” is likewise laser-engraved into the wood. The wood grain of each coffee grinder is slightly different for each piece, making the item a truly one-of-a-kind purchase.
